About INCOM

The overall objective of INCOM is to develop components and subsystems for next generation communications infrastructure enabling IoT, 5G and Industry 4.0. With key players from industry and academia, the overall goal is to accelerate green-growth and investments in the Danish telecom cluster formed by the INCOM partners. Denmark has an extremely strong fibre infrastructure combined with a key geographical position; which makes Denmark a strategic target for direct foreign investments, as seen with the decisions to place several hyper-scale data centers here. Furthermore, new high capacity submarine cables with landing points in Denmark will be implemented during the coming years.

All this results in extreme requirements to data traffic handling capacity, reliability and to the associated energy consumption. Responding to this challenge through INCOM will allow Danish suppliers to develop essential skills that will soon be needed all over the world. Danish industry in this field is well positioned and consists of highly specialised niche players with vast growth potential. The work in INCOM will enable a timely development of key products to a growing international market and attract more investments in R&D as well as in production capacity. INCOM comprises 12 industrial partners and 2 university partners, DTU and AU. Several Danish and foreign companies follow the INCOM progress as associated partners.
